Introduction
In this series of lectures and tutorials we will have a look at some practical models that teachers can use to manage the behaviour of students in a variety of settings such as the playground, classroom, outdoors and in individual interactions.

To successfully handle difficult behaviour teachers must balance their own reactions, with some sound knowledge of behaviour theory while at the time having a variety or toolkit of practical options that they can draw upon 'in the moment'. It is the aim of this series that students be able to add some additional strategies to their already developing 'toolkit'.

Have a look at this McGraw-Hill video from the 1940's. Have classrooms and teachers really changed that much apart from the language and fashions? And while the behaviours may be less restrained are the patterns and attitudes still the same among both teachers and students?

Here is the video mentioned in Tim McDonald's book on classroom management. What's so wrong about just bullying the bullies? This audience seems to think it is a good idea!
